Is your pain stopping you from:
- Playing golf with your friends?
- Doing sports or activities with your partner?
- Leaning over to lift up your kids?
- Or just walking the dog?
You were probably reasonably
active until you had an injury or accident that left
you with a constant pain that you’ve
never quite been able to shake off. You long to be
able to get back to the days when you could do whatever
you liked without worrying about whether your body would
hold out or not. You may have put on a bit of weight
because you can’t exercise consistently, you’ve
noticed your moods and energy are usually low, and you’re
feeling left out because your friends and family can all
do things you find harder now.
You have probably tried conventional
medical treatments like pain killers, bed-rest and physiotherapy
as well as a variety of complementary therapies to get
out of pain. You’ve
probably read some anatomy books, many of them interesting,
but how do they apply to your specific problem? Perhaps
you’ve tried some exercise programmes, seen a specialist
or even had some surgery but nothing seems to be helping.
Many people with chronic
pain feel frustrated because they don’t understand what’s
causing their pain or how to get out of it.
At Intouch we are committed
to helping people get out of pain. However, we find that we get our best results
when clients really get involved in the treatment process.
Therefore, if you meet the following criteria, we’d
love to work with you:
- you are in pain, in need of some emotional support
or like to look after yourself
- you would like to get to the root of your problem
- you enjoy learning how your body, mind and emotions
all work
- you want to participate in your treatment and recovery
- you are ready to take responsibility for your health
- you are willing to commit to a course of weekly (or
as advised) treatments
- you are committed
to keeping your appointments and following through
with any “homework” set
